Cinco Reis – Trindade Irrigation network enters into operation next irrigation season

Cinco Reis / Trindade Irrigation network benefits an area over 5 300 hectares, with 85 000 irrigation outlets and around 43 kilometers of pipelines.
This new irrigation area enters into operation in the next irrigation campaign and, like the perimeters already operating, the volumes of water used won`t be charged, because the first year is considered "year zero", 1-year test period.
This new 5 300 hectares of irrigation area, adds to the 68 000 hectares already in operation, and it is expected the entry into operation of more 14 000 hectares very soon, totaling about 88 thousand hectares in 2015 campaign.
Meanwhile there are ongoing contracts to complete all Alqueva Global Irrigation System, about 120 thousand hectares, which will be available in 2016 irrigation campaign.
