Here at Alqueva,

In this section the operational implementation and results of SISAP
(Support System for Determining Crop Suitability) for a set of three crops
in 18 municipalities of the catchment area of the Alqueva Multi Purpose
Project can be simulated. EDIA manages the SISAP system.
The following crops are currently analysed by the system: pumpkin, lettuce,
carob, cotton, garlic, apricot, plum, almond, peanut, blackberry, argan, rice,
oats, holm oak, potato, aubergine, beetroot, broccoli, sugar cane, giant cane,
hemp, thistle, onion, carrot, cherry, rye, barley, chicory, poplar, citrus fruits,
rapeseed, courgette, Chinese cabbage, pea, eucalyptus, beans, green beans,
fig, raspberry, ash, sunflower, chick pea, blackcurrant, jatropha, flax, lucerne,
apple, cress, melon, maize, blueberry, miscanthus, strawberry, red mustard,
turnip, loquat, walnut, olive, millet, poppy, paulownia, cucumber, peach,
pepper, plantain, pistachio, pine, castor, pomegranate, rocket, willow, sesame,
cork, soybean, sorghum, stevia, tomato, lupin, wheat, triticale, Jerusalem
artichoke and vine.

The Land Exchange
of Alqueva
has about 1500 ha available

of about 1500 hectares.

EDIA cooperates
with the banking sector
to support farmers

EDIA signed a cooperation agreement
with four banks, with the objective
of supporting entrepreneurs and farmers
wishing to invest in Alqueva.

Cinco Reis – Trindade Irrigation network enters into operation next irrigation season

5300 hectares of irrigation area, adds to the 68000 hectares already in operation, and it is expected the entry into operation of more 14000 hectares very soon, totaling about 88000 hectares in 2015 campaign.
